Just ordered up a bunch of clothes for the mother. She has dropped a lot of pounds and is needing some outfits now that she will start to move away from PJ's 24/7. Now I want some flannel sheets even though it's summer - I'm going to order them ohh ohh and some pillows. I need to get rid of the internet because it cost too much and then the online shopping is what really cost the most. I love, lust, no love retail therapy.
Mom gave me my g-ma's rings - OMG. I wonder if she is going to remember any of these passing the bling bling. Now I've got to come up with an awesome hiding place just in case there is a crime.

House Party
We had a good ole fashion house party at mom and dad's. There were over 20 people in the house on Sunday. Most of them at the same time. Thank goodness daddy made hot dogs and hamburgers because we had enough to feed them all.
Coco survived being home alone all weekend. He thinks he is on guard duty and refuses to come in and doesn't eat well. So now that we are back, he has eaten a ton and has passed out in the air conditioner. He's so good.
The only thing missing was music and dancing but there was no room for that. Instead there was a lot of drinking (even a lil moonshine) and food and lots of people visiting and having fun. My mom got her fill of many people that she loves dearly and we all got to enjoy the deck and great weather.
So much fun.

Whilst
WOW - Revenge has me all swolt up. I watched last weeks episode and I was crying my eyes out. I was warned but had no idea. Ouch that hurt. I know it's just a tv show - shut up. I am so tired tonight and now that I've been crying I'm tired and splotchy. I am going to go to bed early. I realize it's boring. I also realize I like boring. Boring is the new fun. What has been going on - this weekend I had a very exciting Saturday. Bentley and I went for massages. Then we had Brazilian Buffet and I promptly returned to my flat to take a 3 hour nap. I asked Bentley to lock the door as he left and was asleep before the the lock turned. It was a good one and I had to make myself get up. Yes - very exciting. What else? I went for a walk on Sunday then did more domestic cleaning and watching of the boyfriend whilst he did the blowing of the leaves from the roof. I held the latter (isn't it ladder and latter means the last choice? - what is going on with spell check) and left the door open so I wouldst hear if he fell off the roof. I also pulled the starter for the lawn mower whilst he attempted to get it started. He did figure out the problem and ordered the part. I found a tick on my leg. When you remove a speck of dirt and are left withst a blood dot, its a tick. I obtained mosquito bites and got my hair highlighted. I realize it's been @ 12 years since I've had highlights. Fun thing is with short hair I can grow it out in 2 months so its not a huge commitment. They are what I like to call "Sunkissed". Ok - I'm off to bed. I will not be responsible for anything else typed here whilst I am this tired.

Monday
The weekend was busy with cooking and cleaning. So domestic I know. Today a trip to Whole Foods with my friend Amelie. It was a fast but fun lunch. Flipping through the channels and there is a new batchelorette. What is wrong with the world we are living in. I admit I usually watch the last two episodes of the train wreck but you really do have to question the men and women that put themselves through that show. My grandmothers would have been appalled. I say that but when I think about how they loved their "stories" they may have been addicted. My reality show of choice is of course Big Brother and when I watch American Idol it's more to see Steven Tyler than anything.
Listening: crickets I guess
Feeling: Excited about the drawer Thid made for grandma's dresser. He will have a lifetime supply of fudge.
Needing: To remember to mail my brother's new flip flops tomorrow
Thinking: I will be taking a Zyrtec tonight - aaachhhuuu
Enjoying: Gel nail polish
Wondering: how to fight the worry gene
Hoping: this new book - Sisters will be good

Doing the Laundry
Yep - it is an exciting day. I have been helping Bentley clean his house and I think I vacuumed for 2 hours. There is a small dog in the trash. Coco is shedding and it is not pretty. Today we took a walk and Coco went in a small creek - his favorite thing to do in the whole world. Wet dog odor is his specialty. He is so happy it started to rain because I think he was starting to sense there was a bath coming.
I am alternating between laundry, reading and watching tv. Tonight the real excitement will come when I actually cook a meal. It's been a while since I've done that. The menu: Steamed cabbage w/ crushed red pepper and HOT Italian sausage, roasted potatoes, carrots and mushrooms. We will need the veggies to counter the sausage - I could start to sweat just thinking about it.
Tomorrow morning I have another doctor appointment for a physical and it's with someone new. I hate going to the doctor - any doctor and a new one makes me also start to sweat just thinking about it.
I went to my friend's house warming and it was also a jewelry party - WOW that was fun. I had to buy a few things - just to be supportive you understand. Thank goodness I was not able to stay and have a few drinks because I would have probably spent even more. She made the best guacamole. I will be buying the stuff to make it this week because I'm still thinking about it.
No I didn't get any yesterday at the Cinco de Mayo thing at our favorite place. Bentley is usually a pretty patient, calm, nice guy but due to recent events he is on the edge of some real ugliness and I am really hopeful that I won't be around when it happens. He ordered a steak biscuit and got sausage, he ordered a club sub and they didn't remember the bacon, and last night at our FAVORITE mexican restaurant he stated - "I will never come here again!" and he had evil in his eyes. We arrived and found a mass of people. The outside dining was extended and there was a bouncy house. As we entered it was apparent we werent' in Kansas anymore because there were police officers explaining how you have to show your ID and get a band to order a drink. The anxiety started with the crowd and loud music. As we sat down - I wanted to go. Bentley said - no its ok - we'll just see how it goes. Then they are charging double for beer and he is mad b/c they are gouging people due to the party. He agreed we should have left because it was a club feel instead of relaxing dining experience. A club but with kids, and in my opinion kids should not be around that many drunk people and that kind of noise level. I have a feeling the next experience he has where is receives poor service, doesn't get what he expects or is overcharged - he is going to let whoever it is have it. Again - I hope to avoid it but almost wish it would happen soon so he can get it out and we can go back to my favorite place.

It's time to ride
Today was my first time out on the bike this year. We had to laugh because 6 miles seemed so hard. I've done 40-50 a day and Bentley has done 100 a day. To laugh at ourselves was the only thing we could do. With the way he is - I guarantee next weekend it will be 20 miles. He can't stand it and then his tennis elbow will be ruined again but there is nothing to say - just let him have his way.
I had a good week of balance and find it weird to only work for 40 hours a week. Good weird. I went to Cinco's last night for a Bon Voyage Party for a friend that is moving to Belgium in 2 weeks. Last night was a fun group. I'm going to miss her but look forward to having another friend to hang out with when I visit. She'll start her of list of US stuff she needs me to bring when I come. She's a world traveler and now she'll get paid to travel. I have her on my wish list to go with me to Japan b/c I really have no desire to go unless I'm with her and she takes me to her favorite places.
Recent Purchases: I picked my brother up some Croc flip flops - they are my favorite and I got Leah and mom a pair so he needs a pair too. They look like boats so I hope they fit and I think I'll mail them b/c it will be weeks before I see him. My other recent purchases have been cotton VS gowns. I love a soft cotton gown in the summer and since its 90 degrees today - its summer.

Early Mornings
I have started getting up early to ensure I can get out of work early. It's been painful but not as bad as it could be. I picked the best time to make the change. After the spring forward pain and when the sun is coming up early. I hate getting up in the dark. Thankfully I live really close to work and I'm low maintenance so I'm able to get up at 6:30 and be there at 7:30, no sweat. I am going to eventually work toward 7 - 4. Another important factor to my change in hours is that I can't stay up to watch the few shows I like. I have to start to bed early and they get me all stirred up. Like Revenge. It comes on tonight at 10:00 p.m. - love it but then I'm all excited and who knows how long it will take me to calm down. Instead I watch it on-line. Tonight I am watching last weeks episode and it was great - the hoodie is missing...that's not mine... take the win...what on god's earth have you done Victoria... See I'm getting all worked up and into it but at least I have time to chill out before it's time for bed. Now it's time for American Idol - Phillip always looks like he is poopin his pants. I like Joshua and Jessica the best.
Listening: Seal - he just isn't my favorite so back to AI -
Feeling: organized in some ways that is really helping me remain saneNeeding: To read a bunch of books - I bought a stack of them and I want to read them all at one time.
Thinking: Gel nail polish is the best new invention. I can never keep nail polish for more than a day before it starts to chip and then pull off. I'm on day 4 now and they look fabulous - pink blush or something like that. very cool.
Enjoying: Tina Fey's book - she is a funny ladyWondering: why the maintenance guys had to get something on my new rug - do they have a 6th sense about it.
Hoping: The scotch guard doesn't mess up my new Vera bag. I am pissed about how the bags don't clean up good and if you touch fabric constantly its gonna get dirty.

Upset
Mom's upset, Daddy's upset, I'm upset - Her recover takes longer each time and she is sick of it. I can tell my dad feels almost a sense of panic watching her feel so bad. Why is it still hurting - they keep saying it takes a long time but this is getting ridiculous. I hope she'll look back on this and not remember much of the pain and discomfort, if nothing else because she has been on serious drugs for all of it. Time going by - living life wanting time to go by sucks.
Tomorrow I will try to get her an appointment sooner than later so they can confirm this suffering is normal.
Listening: Drop Shot - Harlan Coben - its ok so far
Feeling: Frustrated mom is still feeling so bad - kind of helpless too which I should be getting use to that feeling.
Needing: To clean up before I go to bed so it doesn't start again.
Thinking: The Two & A Half Men Show is stupid and Ashton is disappointing. They tried but they should give up.
Enjoying: Roasted Veggies
Wondering: How long all of this social media will continue. I know I get bored with it and I don't participate fully. Its like a virus and continues to grow with no cure in sight.
Hoping: To get in bed by 9:30 - and be asleep by 10:00

Shorter
I got my hair cut shorter - I don't think Bentley realized it could get shorter. Now its pretty close to being his length in the back/sides. Short hair on a woman gets many different reactions. It was still shocking to him but he seems almost confused by how much he likes it - which is the same reaction the first time it was cut short so you would think he would be use to it. I thought about one of my friends who loves to have short hair and has grown it out. She has good hair either way. Now that I have really short hair, I can understand why its hard to keep it long. It does cost more to have to get it cut so often but it saves a lot of energy, time and thought.
Saved myself $40 last night by cutting my own nails - they look like crap but the job is done.
Listening: Air conditioner kicking on
Feeling: Productive and caught up... a little
Needing: To get up and take my walk
Thinking: 4 work days and I get a break for a while
Enjoying: Beautiful weather & yummy salad from Whole Foods
Wondering: Where Waldo is
Hoping: Mom is feeling better - need to call to see

Done
Mom is done with all of this. She has felt horrible for over 6 months now and has decided to stop treatment. I am relieved and hopeful she will feel better by the weekend. I am so glad the PICC Line is gone - that thing made me nervous. I think she made the best decision and I know we are all ready for her to really recover. It's emotional for us all b/c its been too much for her and its horrible for all of us that love her to witness and have so little we can do to help. It's beyond words. Words are too simple for the feelings felt when someone you love has had cancer and gone through so much to get rid of it and even when everything is good to be left with the worry that all cancer survivors (and their family & friends) feel. Today she moves in the right direction and tomorrow will be a better day.
Listening: to the dishwasher running
Feeling: Excited mom will be better during my next visit and we can do something fun with Page.
Need: to sleep - we'll see
Thinking: I have no idea what I'm wearing tomorrow and I wish it were PJ's
Enjoying:American Idol - its good this year
Wondering: Why I extend myself to certain people... again. Its like I can't help it and then I regret it. At times I am cold and it is easy to maintain a distance - then others I forget and allow myself to be open and friendly - the battle begins. Its hard to fight yourself but you have to come to terms that not everyone deserves to be apart of your life, more specific your real life. Stop wasting your energy and save it for those that matter. Deep, yes I know. One of my friends told me I am generous and should never change and i appreciate that but we agree it should be limited to people that appreciate it and ARE STABLE. It's also interesting the filters you forget about and how there are times removing them is needed like when someone crosses the line or is insulting. I'm installing a quick release button on my filters so watch out.
Hoping: The book I just started will be really good b/c its HUGE

I'm Back
2012: So far I turned 40 and celebrated 5 years with Bentley. My mom had some time to recover from radiation and just started her treatment. I have slowed my roll at work a little even though I did have a trip that was bad enough I was scared to leave my room. My cousin has gotten a cool job, signed on an apartment and is well on his way in joining his woman in ATL. I've had a few trips home and my bud Raph is in town. I'm not going into last year. Forgetaboutit.
I think I'll keep doing some of the category things until I have more to share:
Listening: I am trying to listen to the music Raph gave me to load on my ITunes and its been so long I don't remember how to download it.
Eating: Not eating but had manicotti and it was good but heavy
Feeling: Frustrated and upset that my mom feels like crap
Need: An ITunes refresher
Thinking: TV is stupid
Enjoying: My new watch - Raph got me a gray ICE watch - its very cool.
Wondering: How long will I last this time in writing in this thing
Internet Finds: When I start to feel like my lil apartment gets too big I'll be moving into a container house: http://www.poteetarchitects.com/containerguesthouse/15.html

Suitcases
Funny how excited one can get about "stuff". I am in love with my new suitcase. It's an Eagle Creek and it's blue. I was in the container store using my gift card that was at least 3 years old and I spotted this lovely. It only weighs @7 lbs. I also got one of their folding sets and I might use to fold all my clothes in my house. I love when stuff is all folded nicely. So I didn't buy it immediately because it's a big purchase. I am going to buy the large one in a few months because I really can't bring myself to drop that kind of cash on suitcases so I am going to stretch it out. I also have suitcases so I needed more time to come up with my justifications. First, I am replacing my small suitcase with the one I bought today. It was too small for more than 2 nights and I always needed a little bag for shoes/toilettries. I am going to give it to my niece for her travel. Second I will replace my large suitcase which, I think, is 14 years old. I bought it at Target while I was in California visiting a friend and I had to get a suitcase to get it all my goodies home. Since then it has been to Belgium many times, Switzerland, Holland, France, Portugal, Spain, Germany, California, Boston, Florida, and a few places in between. It has had bottles of port break and leak in it, it has been lost, it has been taken over by cats, it has been packed way beyond it's limits, thrown, banged up and always just kept on going. The zipper is just starting to fail and so I plan to replace it with the larger version of this bag before I take my week long vacation in the spring. I am going to retire my bag at goodwill. What I think I will miss most about my big case is the faded sticker of the crabby patty that my niece put on it about 6-7 years ago. I would see it come off the belt at the airport and I knew it was mine. *Sigh*Listening: Today was a Taylor Swift Day - all day
Eating: I had a crabcake sandwich with sweet potato fries and in my mind it's a crabby patty
Feeling: Excited about my purchase and using it on my lil trips planned for fun this spring/summer
Need: To start getting this place organized for my mom's visit. I have been out every night this week and so the weekend is going to be less than relaxing trying to clean and make space in this tiny place for another human
Thinking: Wow my gas/electric bill was cheap considering it's been cold and I've been here a lot. Yeah - little tiny apartment. I'd rather spend money on a new suitcase than the utilities
Enjoying: The fact that my bra is off
Wondering: When I'm going to read all of these books - especially since I just ordered 3 more.
Internet Find: www.pandora.com It's not a new find but I love it.

Fix + New Jewelry
I'm going to take some pictures tomorrow. I'm too tired tonight. It was a fun time. The apartment was very cool and had beautiful paintings. I was greeted by sweet little furry friends and mixed up some cape coders with the new vodka I picked up. We also had Thai from my favorite place. We fixed a couple of my pieces and I made a really pretty necklace thanks to my bud and all her cool stuff. She was very generous with her supplies, beads, and skills. She has a great sense of style. I need to give her a nickname but I'll wait for it to come to me.
She thought it was funny I was calling it a party but anytime there are drinks, women and food - it's a party. I really don't require all of those to call a gathering a party but those are 3 great components in my book.
Now I want a pink cashmere sweater to wear with my new necklace.
Listening: tonight we listened to music but I only recognized one song and it was a tear jerker.
Feeling: Happy about the home computer thing because I'm doing better with my goal to blog but also sending some e-mails and getting in touch a little better.
Need: to wash my face - I am getting zits just sitting here and wow it's like a forest is popping up.
Thinking: I might be allergic to cats - not 100% and not feeling any weird signs but because I usually do feel some reaction at my mom's, I'm curious.
Enjoying: all my new jewels
Wondering: how my next project will turn out. So much has been sitting in a box and with the help, I am thinking I'll finish the next one this weekend.

The pillow cases were found at the boutique for only $3 and if I had found them in an antique store they would have been at least $10 more. I want to learn to do the pretty flowers.
Listening: All About Your Heart (Mindy Gledhill)
Feeling: excited about a work project I'm starting and can be alittle creative with. Looking for some inspiration.
Need: Lotion - ran out, bought some that smells good but it's not enough for this dry skin.
Thinking: About the stuff I need to pack for tomorrow's jewelry party.
Enjoying: Nuttella
Wondering: When I'm going to download all my pictures to the external drive I bought. It's over a month old and I still haven't taken the plastic package.
Internet Find: www.foodzie.com - I'm thinking about getting a subscription and try it out. Looks delicious.

Head
Wow our noses really do keep growing.
This weekend had a little bit of adventure. Bentley took me to what was suppose to be salvage yard to find a part. It turned out to be junk yard. I was not feeling it. They wouldn't let me take my purse even though it's easy enough to understand that I'm not going to put a dirty, old part inside my $200. purse. What kind of logic would that be.
It really was a bad place and there was a lot frustration. Not me, Bentley. Coco was sitting in the car and I had this vision of some dog fighters stealing him for bait. I couldn't take it anymore so I waited with him in the car. He may be a killer when he's on his own property, but in the car, he is a sweet, slobbering old man dog.
Listening: Nora Jones
Feeling: Ready for a vacation - just booked some flights and very excited.
Need: To put my laundry up
Thinking: Tomorrow is a full day and I gotta iron something before I go to bed
Enjoying: The eucalyptus I bought - but I don't have anything to put it in.
Wondering: if the new pillows will be good.

Wa - Chawa
Beyond sleepy but I must type something into this computer so that I can continue to blog. it's one of those things that you need to do to start a habit. I'm going to start/stop other habits but I can't think about all that right now. I am going to sleep until I wake up naturally tomorrow morning. If I am awoken by my smoking azz neighbors I am not sure what will happen. Keep the bail money ready. Yes I might just mention it everyday because it sends me over the edge. I was excited to find out that my relatively new friend is moving the jewelry making night so I can attend. I haven't even attempted to make anything much less fix broken stuff in so long. Gonna be fun fun fun.
Listening: Legally Blond (watching too)
Feeling: Better than yesterday and will continue to feel better since it's Friday night.
Need: to get my eyes checked again. the muscle is worse and the same eye twitches ALL THE TIME and has for MONTHS. No wonder I'm on edge sometimes - my vision goes nutts when my eye starts and it last for a long time (sometimes)
Thinking: I have no plans this weekend but I'm starting to feel like there is something I should be doing. Can't think of what it would be... maybe tomorrow, once I've slept, I'll be able to think clearly.
Enjoying: These new bamboo cotton socks - I wanted to get more but they were $14.00 and that is ridiculous. It is not happening. I will just wash this in the sink and wear them every other day
Wondering: Where did all my tea light candles go? Vanilla of course. i must have used them so I'll have to get some more. Love them because they are pretty safe in that you won't fall asleep and them burn anything down. they just go out.

When my baybaby makes his first million, I'm quitting my job and I'm going to wear fairy shoes everyday and body glitter and little butterflies painted over my sun spot on my cheekbone. that is going to be the life. Wa Chawa!
Listening: Legally Blond (watching too)
Feeling: Better than yesterday and will continue to feel better since it's Friday night.

One of those Days
Just not feeling it. In a bad mood all day and every little thing was an irritant. here is my list:
Listening: Hum of the fan on the computer
Eating: Had left over Chinese
Wearing: you guessed it
Feeling: like I've got ocean water in my eyes and sand in my bathing suit - irritated
Need: to get over it
Thinking: someone needs to clean up this place. I wonder how much it would cost for someone to clean 480 sq feet...
Enjoying :NOTHING ok that's a little dramatic - having heat since it's turned cold again
Wondering: Friday will be better... wondering and stating so it will be true
Internet Find: I can't even pretend to be interested in the Internet right now but I'm sure I'll find something neat this weekend.

Grandmammas
2 very cool ladies. As I get older I think more about them as women instead of just grandma's. They both taught me some pretty interesting stuff. They were different in some ways like Gma K was independent, worked out side the home, drove, lived a lone for many years. Gma N only worked out side the home for a little while, didn't drive and I don't think she lived a lone even once. Gma K lost her body and not her mind and Gma N lost her mind and not her body. I was closer to Gma N when I was little (limited competition) and Gma K was more in touch with teenagers (she also was better at saying No).
The had a lot in common with having outliving their husbands, some how doing all those chores to keep their house running with a bunch of kids and grandkids and I really don't ever remember hearing them complain. They both loved their stories and didn't really appreciate being interrupted when they were on. They both lost babies and talked about it when some didn't and the kids they had were spanned over many years. Neither one of them would take much crap off anyone and I think they both had a little bit of the crazy gene that has been passed down. They both had homes that people wanted to be in and were the best cooks ever.
I have some great memories being with both of them and I also learned some lessons by being around them when adult stuff was going on. I grew up within a few miles of both of them and got to see them regularly. I think I memorized their phone numbers before I did my own. They were not in each other's circles but they did get a long. I had a great sense of family from both sides. I go by their houses when I'm home and driving around and it's like it was just a few months ago even though it has really been YEARS. I wish I had them longer. They were so matter a fact about what needed to be done and just doing it. I want to be like that.
Listening: American Idol in Austin Texas
Eating: I met some of my girls for italian and had so much pasta and cheese I'll be recovering for days - ohh and some awesome cheese cake - can I get a little more cheese.
Wearing - I have worn heels for 2 days and tomorrow is a clog day - i've had enough
Feeling: in my own head because my mouth was moving from 8:30 - 7:30
Need: Sleep
Thinking: about my grandmas for some reason. I guess because I'm starting to work on some of the things I want to be better at things that seemed so natural to them.
Enjoying: Cookbooks. Haven't start actually cooking anything from them but getting some ideas
Wondering: nothing because my brain hurts too much

This woman takes the best pictures of her little girl sleeping with all kind of sets. Love it.

So much to do tomorrow. A day of non-stop talking. I get exhausted on days I have to talk all day.
Listening: the evil voices in my head that replay about my smoking neighbor that came by today. YUK
Drinking: water - I hope I don't pee in the bed tonight
Wearing: stripped PJ pants, tank and my new favorite shirt - such soft cotton
Feeling: like the drinking question needs to go unless of course I am drinking something interesting.
Need: To come home at lunch more. It was nice to be here during the daylight and to straighten up some so it was nice when I came home.
Thinking: I've got too much stuff on this desk (home) and how does it keep creeping up on me.
Enjoying: You Tube - love all these crazy people but I wonder if they realize they may have to get a real job one day and that the internet is FOREVER or until all the computers crash and we go back to drawing in the sand because all of the trees are gone.
Wondering: What I should do to celebrate my niece rockin her report card.
