Whilst

WOW - Revenge has me all swolt up.  I watched last weeks episode and I was crying my eyes out.  I was warned but had no idea.  Ouch that hurt.  I know it's just a tv show - shut up.  I am so tired tonight and now that I've been crying I'm tired and splotchy.  I am going to go to bed early.  I realize it's boring.  I also realize I like boring.  Boring is the new fun.  What has been going on - this weekend I had a very exciting Saturday.  Bentley and I went for massages.  Then we had Brazilian Buffet and I promptly returned to my flat to take a 3 hour nap.  I asked Bentley to lock the door as he left and was asleep before the the lock turned.  It was a good one and I had to make myself get up.  Yes - very exciting.  What else?  I went for a walk on Sunday then did more domestic cleaning and watching of the boyfriend whilst he did the blowing of the leaves from the roof.  I held the latter (isn't it ladder and latter means the last choice? - what is going on with spell check) and left the door open so I wouldst hear if he fell off the roof.  I also pulled the starter for the lawn mower whilst he attempted to get it started.  He did figure out the problem and ordered the part.  I found a tick on my leg.  When you remove a speck of dirt and are left withst a blood dot, its a tick.  I obtained mosquito bites and got my hair highlighted.  I realize it's been @ 12 years since I've had highlights.  Fun thing is with short hair I can grow it out in 2 months so its not a huge commitment.  They are what I like to call "Sunkissed".  Ok - I'm off to bed.   I will not be responsible for anything else typed here whilst I am this tired.

Monday

The weekend was busy with cooking and cleaning.  So domestic I know.  Today a trip to Whole Foods with my friend Amelie.  It was a fast but fun lunch.  Flipping through the channels and there is a new batchelorette.  What is wrong with the world we are living in.  I admit I usually watch the last two episodes of the train wreck but you really do have to question the men and women that put themselves through that show.  My grandmothers would have been appalled.  I say that but when I think about how they loved their "stories" they may have been addicted.  My reality show of choice is of course Big Brother and when I watch American Idol it's more to see Steven Tyler than anything.
Listening: crickets I guess
Feeling: Excited about the drawer Thid made for grandma's dresser.  He will have a lifetime supply of fudge.
Needing:  To remember to mail my brother's new flip flops tomorrow
Thinking: I will be taking a Zyrtec tonight - aaachhhuuu
Enjoying: Gel nail polish
Wondering: how to fight the worry gene
Hoping: this new book - Sisters will be good

Doing the Laundry

Yep - it is an exciting day.  I have been helping Bentley clean his house and I think I vacuumed for 2 hours.  There is a small dog in the trash.  Coco is shedding and it is not pretty.  Today we took a walk and Coco went in a small creek - his favorite thing to do in the whole world.  Wet dog odor is his specialty.  He is so happy it started to rain because I think he was starting to sense there was a bath coming.

I am alternating between laundry, reading and watching tv.  Tonight the real excitement will come when I actually cook a meal.  It's been a while since I've done that.  The menu:  Steamed cabbage w/ crushed red pepper and HOT Italian sausage, roasted potatoes, carrots and mushrooms.  We will need the veggies to counter the sausage - I could start to sweat just thinking about it.

Tomorrow morning I have another doctor appointment for a physical and it's with someone new.  I hate going to the doctor - any doctor and a new one makes me also start to sweat just thinking about it.

I went to my friend's house warming and it was also a jewelry party - WOW that was fun.  I had to buy a few things - just to be supportive you understand.  Thank goodness I was not able to stay and have a few drinks because I would have probably spent even more.  She made the best guacamole.  I will be buying the stuff to make it this week because I'm still thinking about it.

No I didn't get any yesterday at the Cinco de Mayo thing at our favorite place.  Bentley is usually a pretty patient, calm, nice guy but due to recent events he is on the edge of some real ugliness and I am really hopeful that I won't be around when it happens.  He ordered a steak biscuit and got sausage, he ordered a club sub and they didn't remember the bacon, and last night at our FAVORITE mexican restaurant he stated - "I will never come here again!" and he had evil in his eyes.  We arrived and found a mass of people.  The outside dining was extended and there was a bouncy house.  As we entered it was apparent we werent' in Kansas anymore because there were police officers explaining how you have to show your ID and get a band to order a drink.  The anxiety started with the crowd and loud music.  As we sat down - I wanted to go.  Bentley said - no its ok - we'll just see how it goes.  Then they are charging double for beer and he is mad b/c they are gouging people due to the party.  He agreed we should have left because it was a club feel instead of relaxing dining experience.  A club but with kids, and in my opinion kids should not be around that many drunk people and that kind of noise level.  I have a feeling the next experience he has where is receives poor service, doesn't get what he expects or is overcharged - he is going to let whoever it is have it.  Again - I hope to avoid it but almost wish it would happen soon so he can get it out and we can go back to my favorite place.

It's time to ride

Today was my first time out on the bike this year.  We had to laugh because 6 miles seemed so hard.  I've done 40-50 a day and Bentley has done 100 a day.  To laugh at ourselves was the only thing we could do.  With the way he is - I guarantee next weekend it will be 20 miles.  He can't stand it and then his tennis elbow will be ruined again but there is nothing to say - just let him have his way.

I had a good week of balance and find it weird to only work for 40 hours a week.  Good weird.  I went to Cinco's last night for a Bon Voyage Party for a friend that is moving to Belgium in 2 weeks.  Last night was a fun group.  I'm going to miss her but look forward to having another friend to hang out with when I visit.  She'll start her of list of US stuff she needs me to bring when I come.  She's a world traveler and now she'll get paid to travel.  I have her on my wish list to go with me to Japan b/c I really have no desire to go unless I'm with her and she takes me to her favorite places.

This is the longest I've gone between visits home.  I miss mom and daddy and being there - hanging out and seeing that things are ok.  I had a doctor appointment this week and just giving my family history bout brought me to tears.  It's all too fresh and I look forward to when this is all far behind us.

Recent Purchases: I picked my brother up some Croc flip flops - they are my favorite and I got Leah and mom a pair so he needs a pair too.  They look like boats so I hope they fit and I think I'll mail them b/c it will be weeks before I see him.  My other recent purchases have been cotton VS gowns.  I love a soft cotton gown in the summer and since its 90 degrees today - its summer.

I'm off to a house warming party and then to have dinner with Bentley.  We are going to our favorite mexican place and will watch all the drunk american's celebrate cinco de mayo and wonder how many even know what it is.  They have the best margaritas and roasted salsa so I'll have 1 margarita but 2 cups of salsa and sit outside and enjoy the weather.  I was telling my Belgium bound friend that Brussels does have a ChiChi's so all is not lost.      Arriba!

Listening : Chaka khan
Feeling: A little sore in the bum and wrists
Needing: To get off the computer and get going
Thinking:  Of all the stuff I have to get done in the next 2 hours
Enjoying:  A Beautiful Saturday
Wondering: Where my watch is
Hoping: Briana is ok and recovers and gets back to her little ones without anymore pain or worry.

Another place I could live if my apartment starts to feel too big.  If it comes with screens, I'll take it.

Early Mornings

I have started getting up early to ensure I can get out of work early.  It's been painful but not as bad as it could be.  I picked the best time to make the change.  After the spring forward pain and when the sun is coming up early.  I hate getting up in the dark.  Thankfully I live really close to work and I'm low maintenance so I'm able to get up at 6:30 and be there at 7:30, no sweat.  I am going to eventually work toward 7 - 4.  Another important factor to my change in hours is that I can't stay up to watch the few shows I like.  I have to start to bed early and they get me all stirred up.  Like Revenge.  It comes on tonight at 10:00 p.m. - love it but then I'm all excited and who knows how long it will take me to calm down.  Instead I watch it on-line.  Tonight I am watching last weeks episode and it was great - the hoodie is missing...that's not mine... take the win...what on god's earth have you done Victoria...  See I'm getting all worked up and into it but at least I have time to chill out before it's time for bed.  Now it's time for American Idol - Phillip always looks like he is poopin his pants.  I like Joshua and Jessica the best.

Listening: Seal - he just isn't my favorite so back to AI -
Feeling: organized in some ways that is really helping me remain sane
Needing: To read a bunch of books - I bought a stack of them and I want to read them all at one time.
Thinking: Gel nail polish is the best new invention.  I can never keep nail polish for more than a day before it starts to chip and then pull off.  I'm on day 4 now and they look fabulous - pink blush or something like that.  very cool.
Enjoying: Tina Fey's book - she is a funny lady
Wondering: why the maintenance guys had to get something on my new rug - do they have a 6th sense about it.
Hoping:  The scotch guard doesn't mess up my new Vera bag.  I am pissed about how the bags don't clean up good and if you touch fabric constantly its gonna get dirty.

Very cool coasters...

Upset

Mom's upset, Daddy's upset, I'm upset - Her recover takes longer each time and she is sick of it. I can tell my dad feels almost a sense of panic watching her feel so bad. Why is it still hurting - they keep saying it takes a long time but this is getting ridiculous. I hope she'll look back on this and not remember much of the pain and discomfort, if nothing else because she has been on serious drugs for all of it. Time going by - living life wanting time to go by sucks.

Tomorrow I will try to get her an appointment sooner than later so they can confirm this suffering is normal.

Listening: Drop Shot - Harlan Coben - its ok so far
Feeling: Frustrated mom is still feeling so bad - kind of helpless too which I should be getting use to that feeling.
Needing: To clean up before I go to bed so it doesn't start again.
Thinking: The Two & A Half Men Show is stupid and Ashton is disappointing. They tried but they should give up.
Enjoying: Roasted Veggies
Wondering: How long all of this social media will continue. I know I get bored with it and I don't participate fully. Its like a virus and continues to grow with no cure in sight.
Hoping: To get in bed by 9:30 - and be asleep by 10:00

Shorter

I got my hair cut shorter - I don't think Bentley realized it could get shorter. Now its pretty close to being his length in the back/sides. Short hair on a woman gets many different reactions. It was still shocking to him but he seems almost confused by how much he likes it - which is the same reaction the first time it was cut short so you would think he would be use to it. I thought about one of my friends who loves to have short hair and has grown it out. She has good hair either way. Now that I have really short hair, I can understand why its hard to keep it long. It does cost more to have to get it cut so often but it saves a lot of energy, time and thought.

Saved myself $40 last night by cutting my own nails - they look like crap but the job is done.

Listening: Air conditioner kicking on
Feeling: Productive and caught up... a little
Needing: To get up and take my walk
Thinking: 4 work days and I get a break for a while
Enjoying: Beautiful weather & yummy salad from Whole Foods
Wondering: Where Waldo is
Hoping: Mom is feeling better - need to call to see
